What is a virtual visit?
A virtual visit is any communication with a healthcare professional via telephone or video chat.
What conditions can be evaluated?
Some examples of conditions that we can handle via virtual visits are anxiety, depression, allergies, rashes, mild urinary tract infections, mild muscle or joint pain and follow-up visits for labs and imaging. There are some conditions that cannot be handled via virtual visits, which include signs of serious infection, abdominal pain, chest pain or shortness of breath. Obviously, there are many other medical problems that we deal with on a daily basis, please just call the clinic to find out the best avenue to address your need.
How much does it cost? Do you accept insurance?
Nearly all insurance plans are now covering virtual visits. However, every insurance plan is different and some deductibles still apply to this service. If you do not have insurance this type of visit typically costs around $50-60.
When are you available for a virtual visit?
We are available intermittently throughout the day. We typically have some time over lunch and after clinic to address most of these visits. If there is a certain time that works best, you can let the clinic staff know and we will do our best to accommodate.
Will my provider have access to my records during my visit?
Yes, your doctor will have access to the same records they would use if you were completing an in-person visit.
Is my visit private and protected?
Yes, we use top-of-the-line, HIPPA compliant software to conduct virtual visits. This means each visit is confidential and private, just as it would be for an in-person visit.
